♠ What does Bridge Traveler Analyzer do, and what doesn’t it do?
It is a post-game review tool. You give it the results page from a game, tell it which pair to analyze, and it produces a board-by-board report as a Word document.
What it does
- Reads a saved ACBL club or tournament results page (or a saved PDF, JSON or PBN file) and your pair’s results.
- Shows each board’s hand diagram, your result next to the field’s best score, and a plain-language explanation of where the difference came from: the bidding, the play or the defense.
- Ends with a session summary, a checklist of the patterns that came up most often, and a short Questions & Answers section based on your session.
- Checks its own work by program against your actual hands and results, and says in the report what was checked and corrected.
What it doesn’t do
- It doesn’t show the real bidding. A results page records only the final contract, declarer, result and score. The auctions in the report are illustrative reconstructions, built from the hands and the final contract, and labelled that way.
- It doesn’t know your conventions. The reconstructed auctions use standard bidding, not your partnership’s system, so it can’t judge your responses to partner’s bids against your convention card.
- It doesn’t cover opening leads. Results pages don’t record them.
- It doesn’t teach doubling. Doubled contracts appear in the results, but there’s no dedicated analysis of doubling decisions.
- It isn’t a chat. Each report is generated once and exported; you can’t ask the app follow-up questions.
- It isn’t a substitute for a teacher. The commentary is written by AI and checked by the program, but it can still make mistakes, so compare it against the cards.
Why it works this way: everything the app says comes from the results of the game you played, so it can explain what happened and where your matchpoints went, but not what was said at the table.
♠ Does this software scan my hard drive or personal folders?
Absolutely not. The app only interacts with the specific files you actively choose to load — it lacks the administrative privileges needed to browse your root files, OS settings, or personal folders.
♥ Where is my duplicate bridge data sent, and is it secure?
Your raw, non-sensitive match logs are transmitted via an encrypted HTTPS API link to an independent third-party AI service for analysis, and results are passed straight back to your desktop. No sensitive data or personal files are permanently stored on any server.
♦ Does the software collect my name, email, or credit card information?
No. We don’t track personal identifying information, and zero financial data touches our infrastructure — all licenses are sold through Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record.
♣ What happens if the third-party AI service goes down?
Your local files remain completely safe on your computer. You’ll need an active internet connection to generate a report, and you can simply resubmit once the AI service link is restored.
♠ How do I update to a new version of the app?
Windows
- Close the app completely, including its icon in the system tray (bottom right, next to the clock).
- Sign in to My Orders on the Lemon Squeezy website and download the newest “PC” installer.
- Uninstall the old app: Settings, Apps, Installed apps, find Bridge Traveler Analyzer and choose Uninstall. (On older versions of Windows: Control Panel, Programs and Features.)
- Open the new installer. Your license and settings stay in place.
Mac
- Quit the app: with it in front, press Cmd+Q (or right-click its Dock icon and choose Quit).
- Sign in to My Orders on the Lemon Squeezy website and download the new DMG that matches your Mac: Apple Silicon or Intel.
- Open the Applications folder, right-click the old app and choose Move to Trash.
- Open the DMG and drag the app into Applications.
- Open the app from Applications. Your license and settings stay in place.
The yellow banner in the app tells you an update is available. It only appears in version 0.1.10 and later, and can take a few minutes to show up after a new release. If you are on an older version, download the update from My Orders yourself.
